Anwar Qarqash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, stressed that the UAE believes that the war in Yemen succeeded in achieving its goals to suppress the Houthi rebels and now the time has come to give diplomacy the chance to show a wider role in this issue.
According to Sharjah24 who quoted the national UAE news agency, on the sidelines of the annual report of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking in the United Arab Emirates, Qarqash asserted: “The UAE deployed all its facilities and capabilities to support the legal administration in Yemen and the UAE sacrificed its best guys for defending an Arab homeland against religious and political disturbance.”
At the meeting, Anwar Qarqash by referring to the suffering people of Yemen in the past two years and emphasizing the need to end this situation stated: “We suggested our friends in Saudi Arabia, the U.S. and Russia to provide the opportunity for the return of the former Yemeni ambassador to the UAE, Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh, to his country in order to play more effective role in this issue since his presence in the UAE has benefit for none.”
Qarqash in another part of the speech, referred to his acquaintance with Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, the current President of Yemen, and emphasized that we are confident that Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi will stand against any proposal that causes the suffering and hardship for the Yemenis.
