Taliban seized villages and regions of Ishkashim district of Badakhshan and reached to 15 km from the territory of Tajikistan.
Two days ago, the group captured Kushpak village of Ishkashim district and moved its forces to 15 km of the territory of Tajikistan.
Tajik news sources have reported that a state of emergency was declared as Taliban approaches in Ishkashim District, Tajikistan, bordering with Afghanistan.
The source affirmed that Taliban advanced to Kushpak village that at 15 km of Tajik territory.
It also added: “the situation is not dangerous, for sure, because the Taliban never violated the border restrictions of another country. The group want to put pressure on the Afghan government.”
A resident of the Tajik Ishkashim, Sharif Safoyev said: “During the fighting, a part of the frightened population of the Afghan Ishkashim left to the Shugnan district.”
“There is a possibility that Afghan refugees come to Tajikistan, so we need to be ready to receive them,” he added.
In the meanwhile, the Taliban released a statement last Friday that stressed they mean to fight with the Afghan government and they do not allow anyone to offend the territory of neighboring countries.
Taliban has assured Afghanistan’s neighboring countries (central Asia) by publishing the newsletter so they be relieved of the group’s recent attack in North.
