To take a gun and get out of the house to terror a person is not forsaken yet. However, with multiple layers of security and intelligence forces around famous politicians and the pressure of media after a terrorist attack, killing a person manifestly is not worth unless the nature of a group is terrorist like ISIS.
Terror, however, is neither forgotten nor forsaken; it only transformed. Not new, but the modern version of terror is bioterrorism; a latent terror. Books have been written on the history and scientific bases of these terrors and articles have been written to analyze the use of it in the political arena.
In a most recent news about bioterrorism, North Korea has claimed that the United States and South Korea are planning to bioterror its leader. The North government said in an announcement that a terrorist group supported by CIA has intruded the country and accused the South and US of plotting against Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea.
Bioterrorism has got a long history in the world of politics. One of the latest suspicious cases was Fidel Castro’s death some months ago. The most controversial death, however, is the death of Hugo Chavez which is still under question. The former president of Venezuela had pointed to the efforts to kill him by enemies.
Nicholas Maduro, the successor to Chavez, once said that he is confident that there will be a time in the future when secret behind the death of Chavez will be revealed:
We have absolutely no doubt, and the right moment in history will come, when a scientific commission can investigate and prove that this disease was used to attack Commander Chavez. He publicly said as much, and we have no doubt that was the case. We think that the historical enemies of our homeland found the way to harm the health four commander.
Far more than Maduro, Chavez himself reveled some hidden facts about the death or disease of some independent and anti-imperialist leaders of the Latin America. Speaking in a radio program, Chavez claims that the recurrent cancers of the leaders in the region could not be incidental:
I don’t know but . . . itis very odd that we have seen Lugo affected by cancer, Dilma when she was a candidate, me, going into an election year, not long ago Lula and now Cristina. . .. It is very hard to explain, even with the law of probabilities, what has been happening to some leaders in Latin America. It’s at the very least strange, very strange.
He was referring to Lugo, Paraguay’s former president, Dilma Rousseff, his Brazilian counterpart between 2011-2016, da Silva, former Brazilian president and finally, Argentine former President Cristina Kirchner. The list can get longer if all the other suspicious cases were taken into consideration.
Bioterrorism, however, was not limited to Latin America. The death of Yassir Arafat, Palestinian former leader, has been proved to be due to the use of Plutonium-210 which led to cancer. This shows the role of Mossad and Israel in bio-terroristic plots.
The United Stated has had laboratories since 1950s and 1960s to explore the ways to inflict the victims with cancers. The US rejected the accusations, but they were even forced to apologize for carrying out human experiences exposing the subjects to sexually transmitted diseases between 1946-1948. Reading “Dr. Mary’s Monkey” and “The Bomb in the Basement” by Edward T. Haslam and Michael Karpin consecutively clarifies the hands behind the scene in bioterrorism.
