Thousands of people gathered in Washington 100 days after he took the office. “People’s Climate March” in multiple cities of America took to street to show their protest at the anti-environmental policies of Trump government.
More than 15,000 people marched from the lawn of the US Capitol to the White House. This is while the temperature in Washington was bothering the demonstrators. The protests are supported by famous people and environment activists like Leonardo DiCaprio.
The protesters carried signs and shouted chants against the president and his comments on climate change. Some signs read “Imagine a world free of climate change,”“Planet over profits,” “There is no Planet B.” Another group also had banner displaying “100 days? I wish this was fake news.”
Outside the Trump tower in the street, people shouted “We want a leader, not a creepy tweeter.” The protest did not turn violent as the protesters preferred to take selfies with police forces rather than confronting them. In New York, supporters of Trump also took to street to show their support for the president aft his 100-day function.
The trump administration has announced that it’s assessing the consideration to withdraw the country from Paris Agreement. Paris Agreement is a commitment by 190 countries around the world for a joint effort to curb global warming. Trump recently said he wants to decrease the funding of the Environmental Protection Agency.
People’s Climate March is going on in America and its organizers say they planned for 300 protests across America.
