Both parties expressed their concerns over the continued bloodshed in Yemen.
The Russian Foreign Ministry made an announcement on Tuesday: Bogdanov and Cheikh Ahmed have stressed the importance of reaching an end to the Yemen conflict and the need for all involved parties to cease violent activities.
They also stressed that the Yemen talks must take into account the demands and interests of the country’s leading political parties.
The two parties asserted that the necessary steps must be taken in order to put an end to the economic and social tragedy that has befallen Yemen, and that the international community’s aid in this regard is a must.
Bogdanov on his part highlighted the importance of combating the terrorist groups that have seize control of parts of Yemen’s southeast.
The daily slaughter of the Yemeni people, as well as the daily violation of Yemeni land and maritime borders and airspace by Saudi Arabia and its allied states, began 19 months ago.
Saudi Arabia’s operations that have resulted in thousands dead, tens of thousands wounded, and the destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure are still ongoing in the midst of the silence of the United Nations, the Western world, and so-called Human Rights organizations.
