In a report published by the PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan), Askari revealed that 19 ranking Saudi intelligence agents and a number of Saudi military officers and experts who were residing in Mosul have left the city following the advance of Iraqi forces on the city. He also said that these forces were training ISIS terrorists on the use of advanced military equipment to fight against Peshmerga and Iraqi forces.
Askari further stated that they have information revealing that following the advance of Iraqi forces towards Mosul, the Saudi forces left the city using fake passports toward Erbil airport through mutual coordination between the Saudi consulate in Erbil and the Kurdistan government, after which they boarded a private plane headed to Dubai, and continued on to Riyadh on a Saudi Airlines flight.
Askari went on to say that this safe passage could be used to move ISIS commanders to Libya and Afghanistan should this plan work when Iraqi forces make further advances. He declared that the President of Iraqi Kurdistan,Masoud Barzani, has been in constant contact with all conflicting parties since ISIL’s occupation of Mosul. It seems that despite the cooperation between Peshmerga and Iraqi forces, he has decided to secretly continue his relations with Saudi Arabia and ISIS commanders under the sponsorship of the American and British consulates in Erbil. This transport of Saudi officers seems to be the result of a number of secret deals between Barzani and the Saudi governments.
