Baltimore police is being investigated for the kind of behavior they had towards a 16-year-old black boy. A local teenager fight ignited the story when two girls started a fight and a boy intervened. The police arrived when one of the girls was trying to use a knife against others.
The intervention of police force was resisted by the boy who believed he had done nothing to be arrested for. The feedback for this resistance by the police was so harsh that made the violence of the fight even more distinguished.
A video leaked to the social media, recorded by one of the by-standers, showing the police harshly pushing the boy to the ground and striking him in the head and neck recurrently. The violent behavior led to massive public criticism against the police. This is while according to Alonzo Cox Sr., the boy’s father, he suffers from “Impulse Control Disorder” which means he can’t control himself when put in an anxious circumstance. He adds, “My son is not a bad kid. I don’t think he deserved to be beat like the way he was beat.”
According to the local police, the two officers will continue to work while the public asks for a movement but the executives to assure no such incidents will re-occur. The issue truns darker when the violence against colored people gets focused on. The behavior of American police forces against the citizens has always been criticized by people and media. This is not the first time police is using violence to reach at the promised peace, and it will not be the last time either.
