Turkish riot police sent to Bahrain

Turkish daily newspaper, Sabah, has published the remarks of Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey, Umit Yalcin. He said Turkey is preparing its riot police to send forces to Bahrain in order to control Bahrain’s internal crisis.

“Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa reached agreement during his visit to Bahrain and meeting with Bahrain’s King. It was decided by mutual agreement that Turkish senior police officers hold specialized anti-riot courses for Bahrain riot police,” Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey said.

“In this regard, 300 Turkish anti-riot police and 15 trainers will be deployed to Manama in next three months. The agreement was made to control the internal crises in Bahrain,” Yalcin affirmed.

“According to the agreement, it has been decided Emirati police forces stationed in Bahrain do not attend these courses due to the UAE’s anti-Brotherhood approaches,” Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey added.
