New evidences: Mohammed bin Salman bribes Facebook

Mr. Everything

Facebook, the giant organization that crossed the boundaries of social networking, making itself a powerful state that brings about regime change in the world, especially in the Arab world. Everyone remembers well Facebook's role in the "Arab Spring", and how it contributed in overthrowing dictatorships, that refused its people democratic rule, in the region.

The dubious visit of Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the headquarters of Facebook and meeting with the tech giant’s founder and president, Mark Zuckerberg. This is something new in the Arab world, especially for the Gulf rulers. What is Bin Salman really planning?

Such a visit is certainly not innocent. There are more important institutions he rather should be visiting than Facebook such as

Amnesty International, Human Rights watch, Press and Media advocacy, and other important foreign policy institutions that currently condemn Saudi Arabia for its crimes against its own people, and its crimes in the region.

It seems, however, Saudi Prince knew he should try bribe the most effective institution in changing regimes.

Bin Salman implicitly admitted of the futility of dialogue with international human rights organizations, it does not affect at all, and their role is limited to writing reports that will eventually find its place in Dustbin. While he seriously fears the impact of social media especially after the increasing opposition to the rule of Saud family that will form a public opinion not in favor of this family, that caused destruction and killing of Arabs and Muslims.

It is no doubt the Saudi bribe to Facebook was present in the meeting, as it is the Saud family habit, offering bribes to influential countries and institutions.

What the Saudi prince seeks from bribery?this is what I will try to raise in the next few lines.

- Shut down Saudi opposition facebook providing Saudi intelligence information about their owners, as well as open the way for the government to monitor and spy on Facebook. All options are open for the deal.

Saudi Arabia, for protecting its regime, will pay ten times more than Facebook earns from users.

The Saud family started to seriously fear the popular consensus, as it  suffers from internal crises flaming indignant popular consensus against Saudi foreign policies such as: aggression against Yemen, and the blatant interference in Iraq and Syria, as well as relations with Israel that began to overwhelm the system's behavior.

The popular consensus that found in Facebook and Twitter tools for the development of its demands, must by all means and ways, be broken according to the Saudi ruling family. By all means including those unethical used previously in buying alliances against Muslims, burned cities and countrysides, mountains and seas. Everything, including water is vulnerable to the Saudi threat of burning and destruction, if the Saud money is present!

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are virtually tied in the latest poll

John Summers II/Jeff Swensen/Getty

With only weeks until the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, presumptive nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are neck and neck in the latest poll from Quinnipiac University.

Forty-two per cent of registered voters surveyed for the Wednesday poll are in favour of Ms Clinton; but Mr Trump is right behind the former Secretary of State with 40 per cent. With a 2.4 point margin of error, the poll is simply “too close to call”.

According to figures from a previous 1 June poll by Quinnipiac, Mr Trump had trailed Ms Clinton by 4 percentage points.

But the most recent poll found that voters have had a negative response to the hostile tone of the election. Some 61 per cent found that the “2016 election has increased the level of hatred and prejudice in the US”, the poll says. Most of those who feel this way blame the Trump campaign (67 per cent). Only 16 per cent blame Ms Clinton.

“It would be difficult to imagine a less flattering from-the-gut reaction to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton,” assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, Tim Malloy, said.

“This is where we are,” he added. “Voters find themselves in the middle of a mean-spirited, scorched earth campaign between two candidates they don’t like.

“And they don’t think either candidate would be a good president.”

The survey was split along racial and gendered lines, as well.

Ms Clinton was the strong favourite amongst women, 50 to 33 per cent, while 47 per cent of men surveyed preferred Mr Trump 47 to 34 per cent.

The New York business tycoon was the candidate of choice for white voters with 47 per cent. Black voters overwhelmingly preferred Ms Clinton at 91 per cent, while Mr Trump only received 1 per cent. Latino voters also preferred Ms Clinton 50 to 33 per cent.

Quinnipiac’s poll comes after Ms Clinton regained her double-digit lead over Mr Trump in a recent Ipsos poll. According to the RealClear Politics average, combining results from seven of the major polls, Ms Clinton has a lead of about 5.1 percentage points.

Donald Trump says he likes waterboarding 'a lot' in speech about Istanbul attack

The presumptive Republican presidential candidate has sparked fresh controversy by repeating his call for the use of waterboarding against terror suspects, declaring: “I like it a lot.”

Speaking in the aftermath on the attack on Istanbul airport, Donald Trump said that the Obama administration had been too soft in dealing with extremists.

“You have to fight fire with fire,” said Mr Trump, referring to Isis headings. “We have to fight so viciously and violently because we're dealing with violent people.”

Mr McCain's relationship with Mr Trump has long been tense

According to the Associated Press, Mr Trump then asked the crowd in Ohio: “What do you think about waterboarding?”

They cheered as he gave his answer. “I like it a lot,” he said. “I don't think it’s tough enough.”

This is not the first time that the 70-year-old New York tycoon has talked of his support for waterboarding, a practice described by President Barack Obama as torture and which was officially banned by the US in 2006.

In March, Mr Trump called for broadening laws to allow for the use of torture, including but not limited to waterboarding. His stance has put him at odds with some members of his own party including Senator John McCain.

“Folks, there’s something going on that’s really, really bad. All right? It’s bad,” said Mr Trump. “And we better get smart and we better get tough. Or we’re not going to have much of a country left, OK?”

Mr McCain has had a tense relationship with Mr Trump, who once said the senator, who was a prisoner of war in Vietnam for more than five years, was not a hero “because he was captured”. Despite the prickliness, Mr McCain, in what is being seen as a move to ensure his own reelection, is backing Mr Trump for the presidency.

On Wednesday, the senator again criticised Mr Trump’s remarks on waterboarding, repeating his view that torture was neither appropriate or effective.

“It’s not the United States of America. It’s not what we are all about. It’s not what we are,” he said to applause, at the Bipartisan Policy Centre in Washington.

Mr McCain said that waterboarding was considered a war crime according to the Geneva conventions.

“But perhaps more important than that, if you’re not into academics and history is it doesn’t work,” he said. “Because if you inflict enough pain on someone they will tell you whatever they think you want to hear.”

Mr McCain also joked that those who initially thought Trump would be the nominee were “crazy”.

“If you believed that Donald Trump was going to be the nominee and you believed that Bernie Sanders was going to come close, please raise your hand,” he said.

“Please don’t drive an automobile in the metropolitan area. You're a danger to yourself and others.”

More than 40 people were killed when three men with explosives attacked Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport on Tuesday night.

The Turkish authorities have blamed Isis and identified the three suspected attackers.

Jeremy Corbyn compared Israel to Isis [video]

Jeremy Corbyn delivers a speech on Labour's anti-Semitism inquiry findings at Savoy Place, London. (PA)

Jeremy Corbyn has been accused of comparing the Israeli state to terrorist groups including Isis in a speech on combating antisemitism in the Labour Party.

The embattled Labour leader was speaking after the launch of a report by the former director of Liberty, Shami Chakrabarti.

“Modern antisemitism may not always be about overt violence and persecution, though there is too much of that even to this day. We must also be vigilant against subtler and invidious manifestations of this nasty ancient hatred and avoid slipping into its traps by accident or intent,” Mr Corbyn said.

“Our Jewish friends are no more responsible for the actions of Israel or the Netanyahu government than our Muslim friends are for those of various self-styled Islamic states or organisations.”

Many listeners equated Mr Corbyn’s comments with a direct comparison between the Israeli government and Isis, which calls itself the “Islamic State”.

The Afghan Taliban also styles itself as the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” and countless other Islamist terror groups are waging insurgencies to build their own states governed under a fundamentalist interpretation of Sharia law, including Boko Haram in Nigeria and al-Qaeda in Yemen.

Sam Stopp, a Labour councillor in Wembley, said Mr Corbyn had "compared Israel to Isis", writing on Twitter: "For that alone, he should resign. I am red with fury.”

Ruth Smeeth, the Labour MP for Stoke-on-Trent North and Kidsgrove, who is Jewish, reportedly left the event in tears after a member of the Momentum group “accused her of colluding with the Daily Telegraph”.

When challenged over the apparent comparison to Isis, the Labour leader said “of course I’m not” drawing links between the two.

“In the report it says that you shouldn’t say to somebody just because you’re Jewish you must have an opinion on Israel, just as much as you shouldn’t say to a Muslim that you must have an opinion on Isis,” Mr Corbyn added.

Supporters said he was rightly saying Muslims and Jews should not be held responsible for groups or states claiming to represent them, and was being unfairly criticised.

A spokesperson for Mr Corbyn told The Independent: “He is explicitly stating that people should not be held responsible for the actions of states or organisations around the world on the basis of religion or ethnicity.”

The report followed controversy over a Facebook post by Naz Shah, the Labour MP for Bradford West, claims by Ken Livingstone that Adolf Hitler supporter Zionism and a wave of suspensions in the party.

Ms Chakrabarti's inquiry made 20 recommendations but she said she does not approve of lifetime bans for party membership.

The report said racial or religious stereotypes had “no place” in the Labour Party and that its leadership must introduce new sanctions for members accused of antisemitism other than suspension or expulsion.

Transgender candidates won primaries in both Utah and Coloradoon Tuesday night.

Misty K Snow, 30, made US history by becoming the first transgender candidate for the Utah Senate. "A lot of people told me whether I win or lose, I'm already making a difference just by running,” Snow recently told The Salt Lake Tribune

Nigerian President urged to protect Quds Day rally

News ID: 3699104 - Thu 30 June 2016 - 19:49

IHRC has written to the Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari to raise concerns about information it has received that the Nigerian Army will be out in force at the annual Quds Day rally on Friday, July 1.

The army's presence is of grave concern since the rally is led by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), members of whom have been repeatedly targeted by the armed forces. Over three days in December 2015 more than 1000 people were killed as well as property and religious spaces destroyed by the armed forces in Zaria. Leading members of the movement were shot and imprisoned without charge.

The assault over two days in the northern Nigerian city left a trail of bloodshed and destruction including the shooting of the movement's leader Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat. Both remain in the custody of the Nigerian intelligence services, detained without charge.

Earlier this year IHRC called on the International Criminal Court to open a preliminary enquiry into the events in Zaria last year in which soldiers attacked the Islamic Movement of Nigeria's (IMN) supporters, symbols and property.

There is a history of attacks against IMN, especially during the Al Quds Day rally. In 2014 soldiers attacked the al-Quds Day procession in Zaria, Kaduna State, killing 32. In 2009 four people were killed and several injured when police opened fire on civilians, also in Zaria.

Following December 2015 attacks against IMN, the state government in Kaduna set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry (JCI) but human rights organizations, including IHRC, believe it is not sufficiently independent and impartial to be able to hold those responsible to account, nor is there any reasonable prospect of any prosecutions. This lack of accountability has the potential to create an environment where such horrific deaths are acceptable, and that IMN are easy targets. This means that Al Quds Day on Friday poses multiple risks, particularly with the perpetrators of the crimes – the Army – in attendance.

The letter states: "IHRC calls on you (the president) to prohibit the Army’s presence at the demonstration and ensure the protection of IMN members who have already suffered immensely. It is imperative to send a strong message to ensure that peaceful and vulnerable members of Nigerian society can demonstrate support for Palestine uninhibited."

Bernie-backed progressive Zephyr Teachout wins New York Democratic primary

Progressive Zephyr Teachout scored a major victory for the progressive wing of the Democratic primary in New York’s 19th Congressional District, Tuesday night. This pits her against  John Faso, a Republican former state assemblyman, on the November ballot.

“I am running for Congress to break down those doors in Washington, D.C. The doors that are keeping the people of America — the real people, the citizens of America — locked out,” Teachout said in an email to supporters after the win had been announced. “I’ve been fighting well-paid lobbyists on behalf of working families my entire life. I will fight until we win — for the people of NY 19. For the American people.”

Teachout is a progressive recruit for Congress after her attempt to dethrone New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who Teachout alleged had too many ties to Wall Street. As a law professor, she specializes in corruption and corporate power.

The general election will be held Nov. 8.

Britain First just tried to invade a treehouse. No, we're actually not joking

There was a problem, though, which might not surprise you: this dangerous migrant camp didn't exist.

Deputy leader Jayda Fransen and her band of merry henchmen knocked on doors to distribute leaflets raising awareness of the dangers supposedly lurking nearby.

"Within Sherwood Forest migrants have set up an illegal camp, and in this camp they have been causing a huge amount of destruction. There's disturbance, there's litter everywhere, they've been cutting, hacking at trees... they've got knives, we're told, and locals have been threatened."

"So far nothing has been done", Fransen tells her audience.

That's, umm, probably because the 'migrant camp' is actually just some treehouses and hammocks put up by bored teenagers during the summer holidays a few years ago.

As on of the creators, Brad Drury, told local media:

"The truth is me and a few friends just decided to build it in 2010 when we were bored in the summer. We wanted somewhere to camp and have a party, as you do.

We never chopped down any of the trees we used ones that had already been knocked down and pieced it all together."

Despite the leafletting and a new petition to complain to Nottinghamshire Council, Britain First's video produces precisely zero evidence anyone is living at the camp.

In the video, they don't even visit the area - instead sticking to a walk around the forest car park.

Brazilian police greet tourists with 'Welcome to Hell' sign at Rio airport

Brazilian emergency responders have a message for travelers arriving to the city just ahead of the 2016 Olympics: “Welcome to hell”.

The photo, shared across social media platforms, is generating concern over whether or not Brazil is ready to host the Olympic Games - exacerbated by ongoing trouble stemming from the Zika virus plaguing the country.

“Police and firefighters don't get paid, whoever comes to Rio de Janeiro will not be safe,” the sign reads.

Another sign outside of the airport read, “Welcome, we don’t have hospitals!”

Some 300 police held a rally on Monday rallied to protest unpaid wages and unsatisfactory working conditions. Some even claimed to have not received proper equipment for their jobs - down to basics such as gasoline for cars - and they lack even some of the most necessary of hygienic provisions.

“At the stations we don't have paper or ink for the printers, there's no one to come in to clean and some stations don't have a water supply anymore so the toilets are not functioning,” said an officer identified only as Andre, a member of an elite police unit, told theAFP. “Members of the public bring toilet paper to us.”

One officer told the AFP that he had not been paid in at least five months.

Police say that the unavailability of equipment could prove dangerous during the 5 August Olympics, which are expected to draw more than half a million foreign tourists.

An attack on Rio’s largest hospital, close to the Olympic stadium, sparked security concerns. More than 20 armed men stormed the hospital on 20 June to reportedly free a drug kingpin being held inside, leaving one person dead and two injured.

The police could not call for backup because they do not have a helicopter at their disposal.

Rio officials declared a “state of public calamity” early June in hopes to trigger emergency federal funding amid the country’s financial shortfall. But Interim Gov Francisco Dornelles says that they have yet to receive the R$2.9bn (£657m) Rio officials had requested.

“I’m optimistic about the games, but I have to show reality,” he told O Globo. “[I]f some steps aren’t taken, [the Olympics] could be a big failure.”

Istanbul airport attack: 36 dead after suicide bombers strike Ataturk International airport in Istanbul

Turkey airport blasts, Turkey, Istanbul airport blasts, Istanbul, Istanbul airport attack,

Two explosions rocked Turkey’s largest airport on Tuesday leaving at least 36 people dead and 147 others injured. The death toll is expected to rise up to 50, one senior Turkish official told theAssociated Press.

Security guards exchanged gunfire with two suspects carrying AK-47 rifles at 10pm on Tuesday before both attackers detonated suicide bombs as they reached the first security checkpoint at the Ataturk airport in Istanbul. A third assailant detonated his explosives in the airport’s parking lot, Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin told several Turkish media outlets.

While no terrorist groups have claimed responsibility for the massacre, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said based on a preliminary investigation that “all signs point to Isis.”

“According to analyses by our security forces, first indications point at Daesh as perpetrators,” Yildirim said during a press conference at the airport. “What is noteworthy is that this attack came at a time when our country is putting up a merciless fight against separatist terrorism and recording significant success.”

One witness told NBC News that he saw a police officer wrestle a suicide bomber to the ground before the assailant detonated his bomb.

After closing for several hours, the airport has reopened and flights reaching the US have continued as planned. The Ataturk is the third busiest European airport following London’s Heathrow and the Charles De Gaulle in Paris.

The suspects were reportedly armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles, and video footage showed people running for cover inside the terminal building.

“The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms today’s heinous terrorist attack at Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport in Turkey, which appears to have killed and injured dozens,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in a statement.

“We remain steadfast in our support for Turkey, our NATO Ally and partner, along with all of our friends and allies around the world, as we continue to confront the threat of terrorism.”

Facebook has activated their Safety Check feature for people in the surrounding area. The US Embassy encouraged people to directly contact their loved ones and use the check-in features on social media.

The US State Department also announced that it is trying to determine if any Americans were killed on Tuesday night.

By late afternoon, both presumed US presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump offered their condolences to the families of the victims.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also condemned the attacks and urged Western countries to take a stronger stance against terrorism.

“The bombs that went off in Istanbul today could have gone off in any city in the world, in any airport. I want everyone to understand that, to the terrorists, there is no difference between Istanbul and London, Ankara and Berline, Izmir and Chicago,” President Erdogan said in a written statement.

“Unless we come together as all countries and as all people, and fight against the terrorists together, all possibilities that we can’t even dare think of right now will come true.”

Iran’s Larijani Highlights Significance of Int’l Quds Day

Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Tuesday, Larijani described International Quds Day as “a day of clarification” and said by attending rallies to mark the day, Muslims around the world would have a significant impact on the future of Palestinians.

“People’s rallies on the Quds Day will be indicative of their strong will to resolve the problems facing Palestine,” he noted.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani regretted that the issue of Palestine has been overshadowed by recent crises hitting some Middle Eastern countries, adding that Israel is utilizing the atmosphere to continue its aggressions against the Palestinian nation.

The International Quds Day is an annual event during which demonstrators express their solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposition to the occupation of the Palestinian territories by the Zionist regime of Israel.

The day is also seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who officially declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day back in 1979.

Larijani’s remarks came as Israeli forces on Tuesday morning stormed Palestinian worshippers at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the Israeli-occupied Old City of al-Quds (Jerusalem) for a third consecutive day.

The incident occurred at a time when a large number of Palestinian worshippers were performing prayers at Islam’s third-holiest site during the holy fasting month of Ramadan.

Isis have executed five Syrian media activists, a new video claims

Safin Hamed/Getty

Isis have released a new video reportedly showing the execution of five Syrian media activists.

The five men were abducted in October, according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

The Observatory said the men were killed in December for their coverage of events in the Isis-held city of Deir el-Zor in eastern Syria.

The graphic video also includes a narrator talking about the media war Isis faces, while warning against reporting to "the crusaders" and "enemies of god".

Rami Abdurrahman, the founder of SOHR, toldAP the news of the men's detention and death had been withheld as no bodies had been found. The activists' families had feared retribution for reporting their deaths.

One of the men featured in the video, 28-year-old Sami Jawdat, had been supplying information to the Observatory since the civil war broke out in 2011, according to SOHR.

Mr Abdurrahman added that Jawdat continued to provide information after Deir el-Zor was captured by the so-called Islamic State in 2014. Jawdat was reportedly detained on a number of occasions.

After learning about the activists' abduction and killing, Mr Abdurrahman say the group now advise activists to refrain from taking photos and videos in Isis-held areas.

Syria is third deadliest country for journalists with at least 95 journalists killed in the country since 2011, according to theCommittee to Protect Journalists.

Make civic engagement sexy again: Tramps Against Trump will send you nudes if you vote against The Donald

Donald Trump and Olivia Culpo

“I respect women, I love women, I cherish women,” Donald Trump said at a campaign stop last year, a sentiment he has repeated many times since, in many creepy ways. If polls can be considered women’s response, then according to pretty much all the polls ever, the feeling is definitely not mutual.

While lots of women have shown their opposition to the billionaire in a range of ways, one group is taking a particularly unique approach. They’re called Tramps Against Trump, and if you vote for anyone but Donald Trump, they will send you a nude photo.

Inspired by Sluts Against Harper—a group that used the same tactic to garner opposition to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who was unseated by Justin Trudeau—the basic idea is simple. Per the Tramps Against Trump website, to receive a nude photo, all you have to do is send a selfie that includes proof you voted in the form of a voter receipt. The group notes that “Tramps Against Trump does NOT endorse any presidential candidate, we simply are advocating for anyone BUT TRUMP.” Technically, you don’t actually have to demonstrate that you voted against Trump, since lots of states have laws or general policies prohibiting photo-taking in voting booths. This is about the bigger picture. In addition to opposing Trump, Tramps Against Trump is hoping to motivate people to get out and extra-enthusiastically do their civic duty.

“In the past we had Rock the Vote and other ways to get the vote out, but what do young people like now? They like naked people on the internet,” Tramps Against Trump’s spokesperson, who goes by the name Jessica Rabbit, told Vice’s Motherboard. “So, we’re using naked people on the internet to make a change and get people excited about something.”

While the group started off solely female, it has grown into a much more representative, uh, body. People over 18 who can’t vote in the U.S. election for various reasons, but who dislike Trump, are invited to send a censored or uncensored picture. The Tramps Against Trump Tumblr says people of “all races/genders/bodies” are needed to submit their nudes.

“We plan on using this platform to discuss issues that directly relate to sex, race, gender and body politics in this election cycle,” Rabbit told Mashable. “We are trying to use some of the things Trump hates the most against him.”

Considering Trump—and the entire GOP, really—has shown consistent contempt toward women, the LGBT community, reproductive justice, feminism, sex-positivity movements and pretty much everything Tramps Against Trump stands for, it’s easy to see how the group serves as a lighthearted poke in the eye to the right’s warped moral compass. But Rabbit told Motherboard that as a sex worker, she is seriously concerned about the impact of this election.

“Whoever becomes president will have a direct effect on what we can and can’t do with our bodies, and how the law will move forward relating to us,” Rabbit said. “For sex workers, this is a really important election.”

Tramps Against Trump had its Instagram taken down (twice), but keeps things going with Twitter, snapchat (@trampsxtrump) and Tumblr. All of the photos posted, it should go without saying (but here goes), are fairly NSFW. Rabbit says overall, the response to the idea has been positive, with encouraging feedback pouring in from a global audience. Yet more proof that fear of a Trump presidency extends far and wide, beyond U.S. borders.

“Our inbox has been overflowing with love and support from people from all over the world and from all different backgrounds,” she told Mashable. “It’s been overwhelmingly wonderful and inspiring.”

For those with negative things to say, Rabbit told Motherboard the group expects not everyone will agree with their approach. But the point is, they don’t have to.

“Of course that critique is going to come, and Hillary Clinton followers will definitely be some of the people that push that rhetoric forward,” Rabbit told the outlet. “We’re sexualized by audiences, by men, and by the media. If we engage with it and send nudes, we lose; if we don’t, then we still lose. In the end, we’re consenting adults who are choosing to participate in this campaign.”

The Sun tells its readers what Brexit will mean, and they are not happy

Picture: Carl Court/Getty

You might remember The Sun's headline mere days before the EU referendum.

Rupert Murdoch's paper wholeheartedly endorsed Brexit, and the paper, which has onlybacked winning campaigns for decades, urged its readers to vote Leave.

However post-referendum is a completely different story.

A sombre article about the impact on personal finances appeared on the Sun's website after the results came out, and there may have been some back-peddling involved:

The article claimed the following consequences of the UK leaving the EU:

1. Inflation is likely to rise

2. The cost of an average family holiday will rise

3. Accommodation abroad will cost more

4. Beer prices will go up

5. EU caps on international calls will no longer apply, so it’ll cost much more to make calls in Europe

6. Unemployment will rise and wages will fall by up to four per cent

7. Mortgages prices will rise

8. Rates of taxation will increase

9. Benefit payments may be slashed

Sun readers, seemingly in a dream up to this point, had the equivalent of a jug of ice-cold water thrown at them.

And they're not just awake. They’re angry:

But it was this comment that rang true...
